Diabetic shoes, also known as therapeutic shoes, and customized orthotics work together as a preventative system to help diabetics avoid foot injuries and improve mobility.
The primary goal of therapeutic footwear is to prevent complications, such as: strain, ulcers, calluses, or even amputations for patients with diabetes and poor circulation.
Our trained staff at Holmes Pharmacy will gladly assist you in choosing the correct footwear for your specific need. We can special order shoes as necessary and are able to bill either Medicare or Medicaid for those who meet the individual insurance requirements.
We are proud to stock both Dr. Comfort and Anodyne footwear products at Holmes Pharmacy.
To qualify for Medicare cover, you must choose Medicare Qualified Shoes. They must be closed toe and closed heel with the option of shoelace tie or Velcro. No open toes, no sandals, and no house shoes will meet the Medicare qualifications.
